BRANSTON (CD), DONALD LLOYD The passing occurred after a short illness, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on June 29, 2004, of Donald Lloyd Branston, CD, of 28 Hossack Street, Fredericton, NB, E3A 8S1. Husband of Pauline (DeWitt) Branston. Born in 1934, at Dunnville, Ontario, he was the son of the late Henry and Emily (Giles) Branston. Besides his wife, Don is survived by two sons, Donald of Beeton, ON, and Daryn of Fredericton; five daughters, Susan (Randy) Farris of Kentville, NS, Brenda (Harold) Crossland of Waterville, NS, Lorraine (Kevin) Higgins of Centreville, NS, Deanna Branston and Dawn (Keith) McKay of Fredericton; grandsons, Stephen Branston and Ryan Farris of Kentville, Joel, Ruel, and Bret Garby of Centreville, Dakota and Dominick Branston of Fredericton; two granddaughters, Kris Garby of Kentville, and Samantha McKay of Fredericton; one great granddaughter, Hannah MacDonald of Coldbrook, NS; three sisters, Shirley Roadhouse of Brantford, ON, Geraldine (John) Johnston of Elliot Lake, ON, and Mary Branston of Simcoe, ON; one uncle, Victor Giles of Wainfleet, ON; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews; brother-in-law Frederick (Audrey) DeWitt of Saint John, NB; and sister-in-law Patricia (Andre) Gougen of Bramalea, ON. He was predeceased by his parents, his previous wife Doreen (Boggs), a son-in-law Les Garby, and a nephew Jim Roadhouse. After spending approximately 18 years with the Canadian Armed Forces (Black Watch Royal Highland Regiment of Canada and Royal Canadian Regiment), most of Don's work life was spent around the trucking industry, either working on or driving tractor-trailers. Visitation will take place at River Valley Funeral Services, 50 Avonlea Court (off Bishop Drive / Hanwell Road) 455-4267, on Thursday, July 1st, from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, July 2nd, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service commemorating Don's life will be held on Saturday, July 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Joanne Barr officiating. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery immediately following the service.
