ROGERS, Lewis R., ‘Lou Boy’, - 89 of Wellington St, Pictou, passed away on September 13, 200,8 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Summerside, P.E.I., he was a son of the late George and Bertha (Campbell) Rogers. He worked as a truck driver and for the Town of Pictou. He served in the Second World War and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 16, Pictou. He is survived by children, Nancy Olmstead; Luanne (Martin) Schick; John Allison ‘Smudgie’ (Debra); Marilyn (Gary) Halfyard; Cindy (Jack English); Marion (Robert) Oliver; stepson, James (Eleanor) Aitken; adopted daughter, Ann (Tyler), partner, Irene Anderson; grandchildren, David, Cathy, Lewie, Peter, Chris, Becky, Jason, Mandy, Cory, Melissa, J.R., Jessica, Dylan, step-grandchildren, Mary, George, Miguel, Patrick, Michael. Twenty-two great-grandchildren, sister, Jenny Rogers; brother, Everett Rogers; several nieces and nephews; former son-in-law Richard Porter. He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine ‘Kay’ Beatrice (Burke), numerous brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Wednesday from St. James Anglican Church, Pictou with Rev. Bill White officiating. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, reception to follow in the Pictou legion. Family flowers only please. Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Society. Father, Grandfather, Brother and friend to all, Dad will be greatly missed by many many people. As Dad always said, "I've been everywhere man."
