(Whitten) Sept. 16, 1914 - Feb. 5, 2008. Passed peacefully away at home surrounded by her loving family, Hazel Chafe of Petty Harbour. Predeceased by her husband Roy, daughter June Earle, grandsons: Douglas and Clyde Chafe; sisters: Elsie Doyle, Dorothy Murphy and Louise Williams; brothers: Harry and Albert (Bert) Whitten; sons-in-law: Grover Reid and Ronald Weir; parents: Sarah and William Whitten. Leaving to mourn her children: Greta Reid, Cecil (Philomena), Bill (Beth), Joan Chafe (George), Dot Heffernan (Phil), Louise, Edna Hudson (Wilson), Gladys Weir, Albert (Regina), Mabel, Max (Gail); son-in-law Len Earle; thirty grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Winnie Long (Gordon). Vera Chafe, life long friend and card playing buddy; and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, February 6th and 7th.
