SANDS, MARY ELLEN Mary Ellen (Gill) Sands, January 24, 1911 - July 10, 2004, peacefully invited into the presence of the Lord and reunited with her Husband Arthur. Born in Fredericton she was the daughter of the late Rainsford and Edith (Booker) Gill. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mary will always be remembered and cherished for her kind and gentle demeanor, her incredible sense of humor and love of laughter. A loving Wife, Mother and homemaker, she was prided to be the cement that held together the foundation of her family and all felt the warmth and guidance she generously shared. She instilled in her family the critical values of love, honor and trust. Her almost mystic connection with all of God's creatures, big and small, and her natural ability to gain their trust will be fondly remembered. Dearly remembered and cherished always by her children, John (Noreen), William (Elsie), Eileen (Dave), Karl (Grace), and Gary (Dianne) and six grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9. A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Wednesday from Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM, with Peter Somerville, Director of Pastoral Care, York Manor, officiating.
