RIVERTON – Lieselotte”Lila” Toelke, 95, of the Valley View Villa, Riverton, died Sunday, January 27, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Berlin, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Franz and Maria (Schulze) Wach. For the past couple of years Lila was a resident of the Valley View Villa having previously resided at Haven Brook Manor in Riverton. Lila spent her early adult years in New York. In 1952 she and her husband, Alfred immigrated to Canada where he set up his own business as a Master Cabinet Maker in Riverton, Pictou County. She was an active member of the Pictou County YMCA up until 2004 where she enjoyed swimming. Survived by a sister, Gerda, Germany; a brother, Herbert, Germany; a daughter, Hannelore ”Hanna” Fraser, Halifax; a son, Alfred, United States; a daughter-in-law, Rosemarie “Romy”, Ontario; grandchildren: Adele Fraser (Eric), Ursula Toelke, Joachim Toelke (Sarah), and Leonard Toelke (Sanna); great-grandchildren: Kyle, Tuula and Sonja. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred; and a son, Erich. Cremation to take place. A celebration of Lila’s life will take place Friday, February 1, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Valley View Villa Second Floor Dining Room, 6125 Riverton Road, Riverton, Pictou County. Arrangements are under the direction of the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton.
