GILLIES, WAYNE DOUGLAS The death of Wayne Douglas Gillies of Fredericton, loving husband, father and grandfather occurred peacefully while surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 12, 2004, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Fredericton, he was a son of Marion Gillies and the late Neil Gillies. Wayne was a real outdoors man with much love for hunting, fishing, four wheeling, and sitting around bonfires. Wayne is survived by his wife, Diane (Couture); three sons, Sammy (Karen) Gillies of Eastern Passage, N.S., Wayne Neil (Chantal) Gillies of Fredericton and Darrell Gillies at home; three brothers, Paul Gillies of Fredericton, James (Linda) Gillies of Lincoln, Pastor Allan Ingraham of Fredericton; two sisters, Joan (Basil) Cogswell of Fredericton, Donna (Rick) Ellegood of Davidson Lake; one granddaughter, Shanya Maygan Preeper of Eastern Passage, N.S.; only aunt, Ives Sullivan of Fredericton; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, Maygan Marion Marie. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 14, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at York Funeral Home 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 15, at 2 pm with Chaplain Allan Ingraham officiating. Honourary pallbearers for the service are Sammy, Wayne, Darrell, Paul, and James Gillies, Seth McCarty, Lee Bateman and Butch Martin. For those who wish, donations made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabete's Association would be appreciated by the family.
