Marilyn Macdonald (Macdougall)

RHODE ISLAND – Marilyn J. MacDonald, 66, of Riverside, R.I., formally from Thorburn, N.S., died peacefully on Sept. 30, 2007, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Glasgow, N.S., she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Grace (Reid) MacDougall. She was predeceased by a brother, “Freddie”. Mrs. MacDonald was a Registered Nurse at Rhode Island Hospital for 31 years before retiring in 2000. She was a graduate of Toronto East General Hospital, class of 1964. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Rhode Island College in 1986. Mrs. MacDonald founded the American Youth Soccer organization program for East Providence in 1987. A sports enthusiast, she was a loyal Boston Red Sox and New England Patriot fan. She enjoyed knitting & gardening. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Gordon; a daughter, Brenda Wisken, of Marathon, ON; two sons, Malcolm (Sue) Seekonk; Frederick (Michelle) Seekonk; a sister, Anne Lake (John) of Thorburn, N.S.; five grandchildren, Hannah, Jarred, Ryan, Grace and Lilly. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Nov. 10, 2007, at 2 o’clock at Freedom Bible church in Sutherland’s River, with Pastor Alan Klein officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Family flowers only. In memory of Marilyn, contributions to the Marilyn MacDonald Scholarship, c/o Citizen’s Scholarship of East Providence, P.O.
