RUTH CONSTANCE (LLOYD) DERRAH
DERRAH, RUTH CONSTANCE (LLOYD) Ruth Constance Derrah (Lloyd) passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton on Tuesday, October 26, 2004. She was 82 years old. Born in Gordonsville, Carleton County, she was the widow of William Ian Derrah of Glassville who died in 1998. She was also predeceased by her parents Basil Lloyd and Cora (Campbell) Lloyd and her brother Russell Lloyd. She is survived by her sister, Hazel Watson (Cecil) of Perth-Andover and by her four children: Mary Steele (James) of Bridgetown, Nova Scotia, Russell Derrah (Anne) of Oakville, Ontario, Ronald Derrah of Glassville and Edward Derrah (Susi) of Fredericton. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: James Steele, Ian Steele and Karen Derrah of Toronto, Susan Derrah Smith of Burlington, Jamie Derrah and Rachel Derrah of Halifax, and Mark Derrah and Dana Derrah of Fredericton. She was very proud of her two great grandchildren Colin and Trevor Smith. Many cousins, nieces and nephews also survive her. A long time member of the Florenceville Home and School Association, Ruth was also active in recent years in the Glassville United Church Women. She will be remembered by many people in Carleton County as the co-owner of Derrah's General Store in Glassville where she worked for over forty years. Resting at Kilcollins Funeral Home, Bath, N.B. (278-3238) with visitation on Thursday, October 28, 2004 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the United Church in Glassville on Friday, October 29th at 11 a.m., Rev. Robert McCarthy officiating. Internment to follow in the Church Cemetery.
