CHESTER STUART DORCAS

DORCAS, CHESTER STUART The death of Chester Stuart Dorcas, husband of the late Connie (Merrill) Dorcas, of Stanley occurred on October 31, 2004 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Williamsburg, NB, he was a son of the late Earl and Pearl (Fullarton) Dorcas. Throughout his career, Chester held a variety of positions including Burner Repair Man and Distributor for Irving Oil. He then transitioned to a career as a Heavy Equipment Operator working for J.D. Irving Woodlands, Lloyd McDonald and, before retirement, C.T. Charters and Sons. Chester was a member of the United Church and past member of the Nashwaak Curling Club. He is survived by one son, Kyle Dorcas (Karen) of Calgary; one daughter, Sheila Bartlett (Barry) of Stanley; one sister, Pauline Brooks of Stanley; two brothers, Glenwood Dorcas (Glenna) of Stanley and Alvin Dorcas (Dawn) of Lincoln; three grandchildren, Blair, Abby and Logan; special friend Patricia Quendt; several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Chester was predeceased by one brother, Royce Dorcas. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, November 3 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from the York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, Fredericton on Thursday, November 4th, 2004 at 2 pm with Rev. Murray McFarlane officiating and Rev. Gordon Mowry assisting. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest United Church Cemetery, Stanley, NB. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
