RIVERTON – Mary Jane Palmer, age 94, Riverton, Pictou Co., passed away on Friday, May 2, 2008 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Union Centre, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Catherine (Fraser) Gauneau. She is survived by daughter, Edwina Baker (Les), Dundalk, Ont.; son, Arthur (Pat), Durham Bridge, N.B.; chosen son, James Williams, Riverton; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William “Bill” Palmer; two sons, Harold and Raymond Palmer; sisters: Yvonne Adams, Barbara Hale, Margaret Haight and Beatrice Johnstone; brothers: Isadore, Joseph, Albert, Alden, and Henry Garneau, and two grandchildren. Visitations will be held Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday from the Church of the Holy Name, Westville, with Father Donald Boudreau officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Name Cemetery, Westville.
