BALL, KENNETH "KEN" CLOW The death of Kenneth "Ken" Clow Ball, husband of Gwenyth (Vowles) Ball, occurred on Friday November, 19, 2004 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born Aprril 2, 1923 in Granby, QC. He was the son of the late Dwight and Marion (Clow) Ball. Ken was a graduate of Granby High School and Ottawa Tech. He was a Veteran of WW II with the RCEME attached to the Stormont Dundas & Glengary Highlanders, Cornwall,ON. He landed at Normandy DDay +2 and participated in the liberation of Holland. Ken was a Designer for CIL in Brownsburg, Beloeil, Montreal and Toronto. A member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and the Kiwanis Club of Fredericton, active in the Boy Scouts in Brownsburg, Lions Club in Otterburn Park, QC, St Andrews Society in Fredericton, involved with Meals on Wheels and enjoyed gardening and loved equistrian events. Besides his wife, Ken is survived by one son Dwight Ball (Barbara Cogswell) of Fredericton, NB; one daughter Lucinda Ball of Ottawa, ON; one brother Stewart Ball (Shirley) of Grandy QC; one granddaughter Chloe; 2 sisters-inlaw Ena Vowles, of Scone Scotland, Marjorie Brayne (Jack) of Pointe Claire, QC; 2 brothers-in-law Les Miller of Bramalea, Alan Vowles (Joan) of Cushing, QC; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister Ruth Miller; one son Curtis Vaughan Ball; brother-in-law Gerald Vowles and one sister-in-law Audrey Vowles. Visitation will be held on Monday November 22, 2004 from 7 to 9 pm at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr. Fredericton, NB. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday November 23, 2004 at 2pm at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Fredericton with Rev. Douglas Blaikie officiating and Dr. Rev. Basil Lowery assisting. Honourary Pallbearers are as follows Manley Briggs, Robin Roe, Alan Vowles, Jack Brayne, Mac Carter, Holly Craig, Fenton Henry and Roger Chiles. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Kiwanis Club of Fredericton would be appreciated by the family. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 are to assemble at York Funeral Home on Monday at 7pm, for a Tribute Service. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
