PORTER, MERRILL CARSON The death of Merrill Carson Porter, husband of Shirley (Hagerman) of Fredericton, occurred on Friday, December 3, at the Mill Cove Nursing Home. Born in Benton he was the son of the late Earl J. and Christina M. (Carson) Porter. Merrill worked for the Provincial Government for eighteen years and twenty-five years for the Air Force. He was a member of St. John The Evangelist Anglican Church, Fredericton. Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Linda Porter of Ottawa, Mary Bolt and her husband Dave of Ottawa, Dorothy Love and her husband Mark of Hay Settlement; three sons, Merrill Charles and his wife Donna of Ottawa, Keith and his wife Opalee of Meductic, John Porter of Fredericton; nine grandchildren; one sister, Helen Shaw of Newburg; two brothers, Robert and his wife Gladys of Woodstock, Thomas and his wife Thora of Riceville; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 6, at 2pm from St. John The Evangelist Anglican church will the Rev. Bill MacMullin officiating.
