Lecanto, Fla. - M. Cecile Lane, 75, of Lecanto, formerly of Littleton, MA, Collingswood, N.J., Saint Paul, MN, Fredericton, N.B. and Pictou, N.S., passed peacefully Friday, July 20, 2007, in her home with her husband by her side. Cecile was born on February 11, 1932 in Halifax, N.S., the daughter of Georgia Meril (Clark) Moore and Frederick W. Moore. She grew up in Moncton, N.B., and received a B.A. from St. Francis of Xavier College of Antigonish, N.S. Cecile was married at Stella Maris Parish in Pictou, N..S to John Edgar Lane of Liverpool, N.S. on September 19, 1953. She was a devoted wife, caring mother, friend and confidant to many. Cecile and her husband retired to Florida in 2000. Cecile, Ed's lovely bride and friend of the last 54 years, leaves her husband, J. Edgar Lane of Lecanto, Fla.; her sister, Margaret (Moore) Nagata of Villas, N.J.; her sons: J. Edgar Lane of Freeport, Me., Frederick W. Lane of Leominster, Ma., Michael J. Lane of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; her daughters: Sharon K. Faldasz of Littleton, Ma., Veronica A. Phaneuf of Montague, Ma. and Vivian M. Sarna of Belchertown, Ma.; and their families including nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations be made in Cecile's name to Hernando Pasco Hospice, Citrus County Office, 3545 N. Lecanto Hwy., Beverly Hills, FL 34465, who helped make her last days more comfortable. She was much loved by all and all will miss her.
