TRURO – Michael Allan “Mike” MacGrath, 54, Truro, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 16, 2008, at home. Born February 22, 1954, in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Reginald and Ruby (Irving) McGrath. Mike worked as a projectionist at the theatre in Truro for a number of years and most recently enjoyed doing various jobs for people. Mike is survived by his brother, Gerald “Jerry” McGrath (Sharon Brown), Trenton; sister-in-law, Phyllis McGrath, Big Island; chosen sister, who was raised by his parents, Frances (Chester) Holmes, Riverton; loving companion, Kay Delaney, Truro; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Yvonne (Russell); brothers, David, Bobby and Bruce McGrath. Mike’s family will receive friends from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, August 19, 2008, in H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Acadia Avenue, Stellarton, where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2008, with Archdeacon Peter Armstrong officiating. Private family interment in Auburn Cemetery, Westville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia are welcomed.
