EVANS, JEAN ALEXANDRA (CROCKET) The death of Jean Alexandra (Crocket) Evans of Fredericton, NB occurred on Saturday, December 18th, 2004 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Fredericton, NB she was the daughter of the late J. Alex "Sandy" and Edna (Merritt) Crocket and wife of the late H. Stewart Evans. Jean was a member of Christ Church Cathedral and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was the grand daughter of James H. Crocket, the founder of the Daily Gleaner. She is survived by two nephews, William (Barbara) Rowan of Lincoln, NB and James (Jean) Rowan of Fredericton, NB; one niece, Jean McKinnon of Fredericton. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, H. Stewart Evans; one sister, Eileen (Mrs. Albert Rowan). A private funeral service will be held at the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel. The Very Rev. Keith Joyce will officiate. A private committal service will be held in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery at a later date.
