UNION CENTRE – Florence Ethel Saunders, 87, Union Centre, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Stellarton, she was a daughter of the late J. Duncan and Mary (Kelly) MacDonald. After her marriage, she moved to Union Centre, where she and her husband operated a farm for many years and eventually passing the family farm to their son. She was a member of the Middle River Presbyterian Church, Rocklin. A very caring person, Florence had a quiet way, enjoying her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 68 years, Donald; son, Donnie (Edie), Union Centre; grandchildren, Mary (Charles Champagne), Anna, Jane, and Donna; great-grandchild, Ava Champagne. She is also survived by her sister, Agnes Lees, Glen Haven Manor; sisters-in-law, Agnes Sample, Westville, and Freda Millen (Lloyd), New Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister Grace Fillier and brother Robert MacDonald. Visitations will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at a time and place to be announced. Donations in her memory may be made to Middle River Presbyterian Church.
