DORCAS, EDGAR DORCAS The death of Edgar Wilson Dorcas, of Fredericton, husband for 67 years to Hilda (Merrill) Dorcas occurred on Monday, January 17, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born in Williamsburg, NB, he was a son of the late Jim and Ella Mae (Craig) Dorcas. Mr. Dorcas was a Crane Operator for York Steel before retirement and was a member of the Gibson Memorial United Church. He is survived one daughter, Marlene Dorcas of Penniac; two sons, Aubrey (Sandra) Dorcas of Canterbury and Sterling (Bernice) Dorcas of Mactaquac; eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor Flynn of British Columbia; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Dorcas was predeceased by four sisters, Edith, Cora, Bessie and Mary-Ann; three brothers, Cecil, Lester and Henry. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 2pm from the York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, Fredericton, NB with Rev. Boyd Vincent officiating. Interment will be in the Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
