WESTVILLE – We the family are saddened to announce the passing of Nellie Oldford, Foxbrook Road, Westville, on Tuesday, August 5, 2008, in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Lalia and Ephraim Fisher, Upper Brookside, Truro. Born on September 11, 1919. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mom will be greatly missed by her daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Bill Gillin, Westville; Ellen Radowits (Tom Scott), Eureka. She was a loving “Nan” to Jane Muir (Bruce), Bible Hill; Jeff Gillin (Lori), Plymouth Park; and Kevin Radowits, B.C. She will also be missed by great-grandchildren, Adam, Liam and Ryan Muir; Zachary, Chris and Ella Gillin; and step-great-grandchildren, Sara and Erin Muir. She is also survived locally by special niece Mary Lou MacLaughlin, Union Centre, and sister-in-law, Kathleen MacDonald (Kempt), Westville. Nellie was predeceased by her husband, Albert Oldford, in 1973; four brothers and six sisters. Mom was a former employee of the Aberdeen Hospital and retired from Glen Haven Manor in 1988. She was a great cook and made the best rolls. She was also an avid card player and enjoyed doing fancy work and gardening. Visitations will be held 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Friday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville, with the Rev. Glenn Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery, Westville. Donation in her memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society, 835 East River Road, New Glasgow, N.S. B2H 3S6
