BEATRICE MURIEL SKALA
SKALA, BEATRICE MURIEL Beatrice Muriel Skala, of 5709 Spinnaker Pointe, Parkville, Missouri, died January 21, 2005 at Garden Valley Manor Nursing Center and Rehab after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born October 30, 1924 in Harvey Station, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of Cecil and Frances Christie. On April 5, 1945 at Quoddy Village, Maine, she married Lumir Lewis Skala. Mrs. Skala was a resident of Canada until her marriage, at which time she moved to the United States and became an American Citizen on November 14, 1951. Mrs. Skala worked as an Insurance Secretary in several states, and prior to her retirement in 1974, she worked for Farm and Home Savings AssociationGuaranty Insurance Agency, in Sedalia, Missouri. Mrs. Skala was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, two sisters - Dorothy Margaret Goode and Charlotte (Lottie) Lord, and brother - John (Jack) Christie. Survivors include her only daughter, Pamela Jean (Flanagan) Bayless and her husband Terry Bayless of Parkville, Missouri, her grandson, Shawn Kelly Flanagan and his wife Ye Chun of Fairfax, Virginia, and three sisters, Christine Reid of Milltown, New Brunswick, Canada, Helen Corey of Harvey Station, New Brunswick, Canada, and Carol Ann Little and husband Lawrence of Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada. The family will receive visitors Sunday, 1-23-05, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Monday, 1-24-05, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete, Nebraska. Funeral services will be Monday, January 24, 2005 at 2:00 pm at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete, Nebraska with the Reverend Rod Lyon officiating.
