BRUCE, LESTER ALEXANDER The death of Lester Alexander Bruce of Doaktown, NB, husband of Edna Rowena (Morris) Bruce occurred at his residence on Sunday, January 23, 2005. Born in Taxis River, NB, he was a son of the late Raymond and Gladys (Parker) Bruce. Mr. Bruce was a Veteran of the Second World War and served overseas with the Carleton York Regiment, 1st Canadian Division 3rd Brigade. He was a former member of the Phillips Road Baptist Church, New Maryland, NB. Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Frances Alexandria, Elonwi Jean Clark, Sharon Beverly Demoors and Cheryle Lorraine Mayer all of British Columbia; two sons, Earl Harold Bruce and Lorne Robert Bruce of British Columbia; two sisters, May L. Crosby of Toronto, ON and Frances Sleath of British Columbia; two brothers, Allison Bruce of Surrey, BC and Raymond Bruce of Hamilton, ON; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bruce was predeceased by one infant son, Mackenzie; three sisters, Lois, Anita and Joyce; two brothers, Earl and Eugene. Visitation will take place at the Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, NB on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 from 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 26th, 2005 from the Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, NB at 11 am with Pastor Treese officiating and Pastor Pat Cook assisting. Interment will be in the Parker's Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
