WESTON, IDA IRENE The death of Ida Irene Weston of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Friday, February 10, after a brief illness. She was 81. Born in Upper Gagetown, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Brooks) Weston. She spent most of her working life in the retail sector in the Saint John, Boston and Fredericton areas. Nothing was more important to Ida than her large extended family, particularly her many nieces and nephews, upon whom she showered her attention and affection. She remained close to all throughout her life. She is survived by sisters Arlena Coy of Upper Gagetown, and Edna Thomas of Fredericton; brother Paul Weston (Elva) of Rogersville, N.B.; many nieces and nephews; and her lifelong friend Marg Boyle of Saint John. She was pre-deceased by her brother Henry and sister Florence McCordic. Visitation will take place Saturday, February 11, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home, where the service will be held Sunday, February 12 at 2 p.m., Rev. Mark Todd officiating. Interment will take place in the Upper Gagetown Cemetery at a later date.
