Peter Spokes

Peter Spokes, 92, of Cambridge Avenue, Stellarton, passed away Friday, December 7th, 2007 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in North Shields, England, he was a son of the late Peter and Margaret Spokes. Peter was employed for 24 years with General Motors in St. Catherine’s, Ontario. He served during the Second World War with the Scottish 52nd, Infantry Division. After his retirement, Peter enjoyed making wood crafts, which included furniture, wood carving and stained glass. He made many wooden clocks, which he sent far and wide. He is survived by son, Peter, St. Catherine’s, ON; several nieces and nephews in England and many longtime friends. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton from where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. Burial will be in the Christ Anglican Church Parish Cemetery.
