DR. RONALD EUGENE MITCHELL

MITCHELL, DR. RONALD EUGENE 1929-2005 - Dr. Ronald Eugene Mitchell,75, of Hillsborough passed away at the Brooksville Hospital, Brooksville, Florida on February 15, 2005 with his family by his side. Ronald was born in Marysville, N.B. on November 20, 1929 the son of the late F. Bruce and Bessie (Briggs) Mitchell. He was a school teacher in many areas of New Brunswick and served as Superintentant for District 15 and 17 , the Education Field was very important to Ron. He also served as Mayor for the Town of Sussex. Before retiring he was the President of Bethany Bible College. He was also very involved in Beulah Camp. He was on The Board of Directors for The World Hope Foundation. Also he was the longest serving principal for The Bethany Bible College. He was a very faithful man who showed his love for his Lord in the way he lived his life. Ron was a very special man and he will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his wife Norma Downey Mitchell ; his son Lawrence "Larry" (Kelly) Mitchell of Indianapolis, Indiana ; his precious grandchildren Aram Mitchell of Houghton, NY and Laura Zigler (David) of Indianapolis ; his step-daughters Marlene Woodworth (Norman) of Hillsborough, Rossanne MacArthur (Brian), Daphna Pearson (John) , Rosalie MacLeod (Gordon) all of Lewisville, Karla Dawe (Edmund) of Sackville; step-sons Orville Downey (Margie) and Kerry Downey both of Hillsborough ;his sister Ellen Mitchell of Fredericton; his brother Waldo Mitchell (Clara) of Fredericton; his sister-in-law Ruth (Bradley) Banks and brother-inlaw Leverett Bradley (Iva) both of Long Reach, NB. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Lois (Bradley) Mitchell; four brothers Leroy, Norman, Lester and Darrell. Donations to the Bethany Bible College, World Hope Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. He will be resting at the First Hillsborough United Baptist Church, Hillsborough with visitation on Tuesday, February 22, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the First Hillsborough United Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at 2pm with Rev. Deane MacDonald Officiating. Interment will be held in Brown's Flat United Baptist Cemetery Brown's Flat, NB at a later date. The family will be meeting with relatives and friends following the service for further fellowship, sharing of memories and refreshments.
