GARNET MERRILLE KILFILLEN

KILFILLEN, GARNET MERRILLE The death of Garnet M. Kilfillen of Hardwood Ridge, NB, occurred at the Queens North Health Complex on Wednesday, February 23, 2005. Garnet was born at Midland, Queens County on September 3, 1940 the son of Marie (Darrah) and the late Percy Kilfillen. He was an avid snowmobiler and a member of Grand Lake Sno Cruisers and had a wide circle of friends throughout the province who will mourn his passing. Garnet is survived by his dearly beloved wife of 44 years, Roberta Anne (Morell). He was the loving father and best friend of his children - Jeffrey (Linda) Kilfillen, of Minto; Elizabeth (Carson) Curtis and their son, Marshall, of Grey Rapids; Elaine Kilfillen of Fredericton and Frank Kilfillen and his son, Nicholas of Hardwood Ridge. He is also survived by his mother, Marie (Robert Pilmer), Hardwood Ridge and his sister, Myrtle Roy, Ottawa. As well, his uncle, Reginald (Maudie) Kilfillen and aunts, Greta Barton, Violet Kilfillen, Merle Kilfillen, and Aldena Darrah; several nieces and nephews, many cousins and long-time friend, Maurice Farraher. At Garnet's request, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Minto Funeral Home on Friday evening, February 25, from 6-9 p.m. A memorial service for the late Garnet Kilfillen will be held at St. Michael & All angels Anglican Church, Newcastle Ridge on Saturday, February 26, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Eileen Irish officiating. Interment of ashes in the adjoining cemetery in the spring. In memory of Garnet, the family suggests donations to St. Michael & All Angels Building Fund or the charity of choice.
