CALGARY – Samuel "Sam" Scott, of Calgary, beloved husband, father, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, passed away after a valiant fight with Motor Neuron Disease on Tuesday, May 13, 2008. Sam was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. He was a graduate of the Nova Scotia Teachers' College and the University of Calgary. Sam spent more than 35 years in Education in Alberta and Nova Scotia. He loved animals, enjoyed and played all sports, three of which he could have played professionally. Sam loved his winter months in Hawaii and his summer months in Nova Scotia. Sam was a futurist, well ahead of his time. Words cannot adequately express how deeply Sam will be missed, for he touched the lives of so many. Besides his devoted wife Helen, Sam will be remembered by his three precious adult children, Heather, Kevin and Derek. He was predeceased by his parents, Helen and Beryl Scott, and his two brothers, Dennis and Clifford. A private family funeral service was held in Calgary. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton, Nova Scotia at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the A.L.S.
