Sandra Jane (Lewis) Wilson, 54, formally of Fraser’s Mountain, Pictou County, died quietly on Nov 18th, 2008, ending a lengthy battle with cancer. Randy Wilson, her loving husband of 32 years was by her side. Sandra is survived by her parents, John and Betty Lewis; her brother, John; two daughters, Elizabeth and Michelle Wilson; and a granddaughter, Bianca Brazil. She was predeceased by her brother, Scott. After graduating East Pictou High School, Sandra attended Kings College and her passion for learning continued even in her final years when she took agricultural courses through correspondence. Sandra loved gardening, swimming, kayaking and painting. She was active in the community through extensive volunteer work including co-founding Yasha Therapeutic Riding, Families United Network, an organic farm cooperative and running a Dartmouth community garden. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 21, from 2-4 and 7-9 at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home in New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, Saturday, Nov 22nd, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Sand officiating. Her cremated remains will be buried at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens followed by reception at John and Betty Lewis’. To honor Sandra’s love of nature, donations may be made to Sierra Club Canada in lieu of flowers.
