PLYMOUTH PARK – It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Shirley Elizabeth Taylor on Wednesday June, 18, 2008. She died peacefully surrounded by family in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow on October 31, 1935, she was the only child of the late Charles and Emily (Wright) McGrath. Over the years Shirley had worked for Sobeys, the Telephone Company and Clairtone. Shirley loved her family and her dog “Pookie”. Shirley is survived by her husband of 55 years Vernon Taylor; son, James Robert (Joanne) Taylor; grandson, Darren (Heather) Taylor, and great-granddaughter Emily, all of Plymouth Park. She is also survived by sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nancy and Paul McCarron and niece, Jennifer McCarron and many other nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her father and mother, Charlie and Emily McGrath and nephew, Jason McCarron. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton, from where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to the Diabetes Association or First Presbyterian Church, Stellarton.
