RALPH RESCOE BIRD

BIRD, RALPH RESCOE The death of Ralph Rescoe Bird of Rusagonis, NB occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Sunday, June 5, 2005. Born in Springhill, NS, he was the son of the late Carmen and Bertha (West) Bird. Ralph served with the 1st Battalion Black Watch, Base Gagetown with tours of duty in Norway and Cyprus. He had several careers such as being a barber at Washburns in Fredericton, driving delivery truck for Merv's Bakery and he was self-employed selling Ralph's Subs. Survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Sheila (Hiscock) Bird of Rusagonis, NB; brothers, Doug (Barb) Bird of Lakefeild, ON and Edward (Erma) of Truro, NS; sisters, Mildred (John) MacAulay of Edmonton, AB, Dorothy Brown of Oshawa, ON and Florence Barron of Moncton, NB; one son, Ralph Bird Jr.; special grandmother-in-law, Frances Noble of Rusagonis, NB; mother-in-law, Myra Kay of Lincoln, NB and several nieces and nephews. Ralph was predeceased by his brothers, Leon, George and Kenneth. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will take place at the Rusagonis Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 8th, 2005 at 2:00 pm with a Black Watch Honor Guard present. Rev. Brent MacDonald officiating. Interment will follow in the Rusagonis Baptist Church Cemetery with a reception following in the church hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Rouse, Brian Seely, Dale Cogswell, Darrell Morehouse, Bob Humphrey, Ken Cogswell and Hubert Hanson. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to a charity of the donor's choice, would be appreciated.
