CURRIE, MAVIS The death of Mavis Currie of Oromocto, NB, occurred at the White Rapids Manor on Sunday, June 12th, 2005. Born in Kirkby Moorside County of York England, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Miriam (Brown) Atkinson, she immigrated to Canada and arrived in Saint John in 1929. She later met and married Oscar Currie. Survived by her children, Shirley Welbon (William) of Gagetown, Beatrice Stevens (John) of Geary, Linda Drummond (Guy) of Geary, Kenneth Currie of Oromocto and Judy Donnovon (late Reece) of Waterville, ten grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, husband, Oscar and one sister, Audrey Murch. Visitation will be held at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 14th, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Oromocto United Church on Wednesday, June 15th, 2005 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Margie Patterson will officiate. Interment will be in the Burton Cemetery.
