Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on Sunday, June 15, 2008, Dorothy Benson (nee Barnes), age 90 years. Predeceased by her husband Lloyd on May 28, 2008 and her brother Marvin. Leaving to mourn her son Gary (Sue) and daughter Pauline (Leslie) Tarrant; sisters: Nealie Williams, Sadie (William King), and Pauline (Sheridan Parsons); grandchildren: Andrew (Allison) Benson, Heather (Tim) Bergen, Peter (Juanita) Tarrant, David Tarrant, Marissa Benson and Garrett Benson; great-grandchildren: Ryan and Jack Benson and Owen Tarrant; extended family and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, Hamilton Avenue, on Thursday, June 19, at 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Funeral service from St. James United Church on Elizabeth Avenue on Friday, June 20, at 2:00 p.m. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. No flowers by request. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
