GILBERT, BARRY PHILIP Barry P. Gilbert of Zealand passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Having fought a long and courageous battle with cancer, we praise God that Barry is now at home with his Lord, whom he loved so much. Born at Zealand in 1956, he was a son of Lorraine (Webb) Gilbert-Bright and the late Perley Gilbert. Barry was a faithful husband, a loving father and a treasured friend to many people. He was an active member of the Burtts Corner Church of Christ where he served as an elder and in a variety of ministries. Barry's faith and life were a great encouragement to those who knew him and his delightful sense of humor brought smiles to his family and friends. Barry is survived by his wife, Pam (Nevers) Gilbert; a daughter, Lily Gilbert, at home; his mother and stepfather, Lorraine Gilbert-Bright and Dennis Bright, Lower Hainesville; three sisters, Wanda Allen (Maynard), Carole Brewer (Allan), both of Zealand and Sheri Breau, Fredericton; three brothers, Richard Gilbert, Beverley Gilbert, both of Zealand and Danny Gilbert (Diane), Lower Hainesville; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Visiting hours will be held at Burtts Corner Church of Christ, 1021 Route 104, Burtts Corner on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the church on Friday, July 8, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Graham Crandall officiating. Interment in Lower Hainesville Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Crandall, Bobby Jones, Norm McTaggart, Brock Davidge, John Brewer, Betty McBride and Danny Love. Active pallbearers will be Joe Dunn, Neville Brewer, Robbie Brewer, Trevor Brewer, TJ Brewer and Justin Allen. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Barry, the family has suggested the Canadian Cancer Society or the Burtts Corner Church of Christ.
