Wilkings Mr. Harold James Wilkins of Providence Place, passed away April 6, 2008. Harold was born July 18, 1917 in the Darmody district. He received his education at Darmody and then farmed in the area for many years. In 1975 he came to Moose Jaw, working for MacIlrath Lumber, the Moose Jaw Exhibition Board and the Moose Jaw Wild Animal Park, from which he retired at age 65. Prior to his move to Moose Jaw, Harold served as a Counselor for the Municipality and for the Darmody School Board. Harold married Ethel in the Manse of St.Andrew's Church on November 16, 1943. In his leisure time, Harold enjoyed carpentry, gardening, reading, fishing, bingo and bowling. He and Ethel belonged to the Moose Jaw Campers Club and with their motor home traveled extensively, making one major trip a year to the USA and several shorter trips at other times. They also enjoyed a vacation in Hawaii. After a stay at Extendicare, Harold moved to Providence Place in 2000, where he enjoyed the company of his sister, Laura May Erickson, also residing on Edgar Hall. Harold is predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Beulah Wilkins and three brothers, John (infancy), Ted and Philip, and one sister Mabel. He leaves to mourn his wife of 64 years, Ethel; son Larry (Sheran) Wilkins - Saskatoon, two daughters, Marilyn (Larry) Forbes - Mortlach and Cathy (Don) McClain - Kamloops; grandchildren: Dana (Paula) Wilkins - Regina; Tracey (Rick) Gardner -Mortlach, Todd (Audra) Forbes - Moose Jaw; Tanya (Dwayne) Nizinkevich - Shields, Blackstrap, Angela McClain (Brandon), Amy McClain and Alicia McClain - Kamloops; great-grandchildren: Jamie, Dayna and Hannah Wilkins; Ethan and Tayler Gardner; Justin Morash; Andrew, Brendan and Emily Forbes; Violet Nitschke; sister Laura Erickson and sisters-in-law Mil Wilkins, Eva Olsen, and brother-in-law Maurice Phillips; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families; The Funeral Service will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Thursday April 10, 2008 at 3:30 pm. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Memorials to Providence Place Foundation, 100 Second Ave. NE., Moose Jaw, S6H 1B8, would be appreciated. In living memory of Harold, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J.
