THOMAS EDMUND On PATTERSON

PATTERSON, THOMAS EDMUND On July 24, 2005, Thomas Edmund Patterson slipped away peacefully in his 98th year to join his beloved wife, Geraldine. Treasured dad of Ernest (Shirley), the late Robert, Wayne (Carol) and Judy MacKay. Devoted and cherished grampie of David Patterson, Katherine Clare, Bobbi Jo MacKay and Derek Patterson and loving greatgrandfather of Eric Clare and Julia Patterson. Born in Waterborough NB, Tommy was the son of the late Joseph and Isabel (Myles) Patterson. Following his mother's death when he was six years old, Tommy lived with and was cared for by his sister, the late Annie (Patterson) Buchanan. He is also survived by Lottie (Buchanan) Wiggins and Georgie (Buchanan) Donaldson, the daughters of his adored Annie. Tommy possessed a brilliant and curious intellect and all who knew him will deeply miss his quick wit, twinkling eyes and mischievous grin. As a young man working in lumber camps and later as a farmer, he spent many hours in the company of horses and had a great love and appreciation for their beauty and spirit. He also had a deep affection for dogs and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his favorite pups Dominic and Mort. Above all, he was a warm, loving and hard working husband, dad and grampie who adored his family and always placed their needs and happiness first. We cry tears of happiness in celebration of you and your wonderful life, and tears of great sadness at thoughts of a world without you. Forever loved and remembered, we will carry you with us always. "Fear not to grieve at my departure, You whom I have loved so much, For my roots and yours are forever Intertwined." The family would like to extend our most sincere gratitude and appreciation to Reta Reid and the staff of Reta's Retreat for their years of warm and loving care. Funeral services will be held at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago Street on Wednesday, July 27 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to do so may make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Oromocto SPCA.
