DIANE AURORE COLDWELL

COLDWELL, DIANE AURORE 1909 - 2005 Diane Coldwell (nee Jourdain) was born on October 13, 1909 at Ripon, Quebec, and died peacefully at Fredericton in the early hours of Sunday, August 7. Diane was the beloved mother of Lorraine and son-in-law Russell King, and the loving and inspiring grandmother of Amy and Sarah. Diane was predeceased by devoted husband Wendell, whom she met while living in Montreal. There, she worked at Eaton's, played tennis, skiied on MontRoyal and had a close-knit circle of friends whom she kept in touch with her whole life. Diane and Wendell moved to their adopted home at Grove's Point, Cape Breton in 1940. They made great friends and pursued their love of tennis, good food, boating, and debating ideas and current affairs. After Wendell's death in 1990, Diane moved to Fredericton to be close to Lorraine's family. There, she made new friends, including Peter and Marie Cashion, her dining companions at Windsor Court and its kind and caring staff. Diane was predeceased by her parents, John and Auxile, and sisters and brothers. She is survived by nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and their families. Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph's Church in Bras d'Or, Nova Scotia on August 10. There will be no visitation. Donations to the Wendell and Diane Coldwell Memorial Scholarship fund would be appreciated, care of Cape Breton - Victoria Reginal School Board, 275 George St., Sydney, N.S.
