GILKS, MAURICE RANCEFORD The passing of Maurice Ranceford Gilks, of Blissfield, occurred on Saturday, August 27th at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Fredericton. Born in Blissfield, NB, he was the son of the late Ranceford and Sarah (Phair) Gilks. Maurice was a retired industrial mechanic and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 23 Doaktown. He is survived by companion Gail Warren; two daughters, Gail Gilks of Blissfield and Elaine Colford (Gene) of Doaktown; six sons, Robert (Michele) of Blissfield, Richard (Alice) of Blackville, Ronald (Myrna) of Winnipeg Man., Tony (Carmen) of Oromocto, Byron (Marion) of Grand Prairie Alb. And Allen (Jackie) of Blissfield; 14 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Connors of Blackville, Barbara Burns of Petawawa, ON and Amy Gilks (Frank Myers) of Blackville; one brother Herbert Gilks of Blissfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by; his wife Greta Pearl (Brawn) Gilks; son Ranceford; daughter, Dawn Marie; grandson Craig Colford, two sisters and two brothers. Family will receive friends at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home 7681 Route 8 New Bandon, NB on Sunday 79, Monday 2-4, 7-9. Royal Canadian Legion Branch #23 Doaktown will conduct a Tribute Service on Monday evening at 7 PM from the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday August 30th, 2005 at 2 PM from St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Doaktown, NB with Father Douglas Barrett officiating. Interment will take place in Ford Hollow Cemetery, Blissfield, NB. A reception to follow at the church hall Doaktown. Pallbearers will be; Evan Gilks, Stephen Colford, Dwayne Gilks, Alex Gilks, Keith Gilks and Brent Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be Mary Robinson, Fulton Greene, Jim Witherell, Angus Grant, Washburn Storey, Kenny Carr and George Brennan.
