ERNEST ROBIN HOLYOKE
HOLYOKE, ERNEST ROBIN The death of Ernest Robin Holyoke, husband of Jean Mary (Currie) Holyoke, occurred at York Manor Nursing Home on Saturday September 3, 2005. Born on November 21, 1924 in Keswick Ridge NB he was the son of the late Ernest Raymond and Ruby Gertrude (Lawrence) Holyoke. Robin was educated in Keswick Ridge and served with the RCAF during World War II. In 1949 he was married to Jean Mary Currie. Most of Robin's working life was spent with Building Supply and Hardware business in Fredericton. Robin was a member of the Nashwaaksis United Church and former Charter Member of Epsilon Y's Men's Club and chorus member of the old Smokey Mokes Minstrel Show. During his years of good health, he enjoyed camping, boating, snowmobiling and family gatherings He is survived by three sons Charles Andrew (Andy) and his wife Heather of Fredericton , Timothy Raymond (Tim) and his wife Francesca of Keswick Ridge and Malcolm Bruce (Mac) and his wife Suzie of Oakville ON; seven grand children Sara Holyoke Parks and husband Steve of Keswick Ridge, Lisa Holyoke Walsh and husband Mike of Fredericton, Jenny, Ken, Stephanie (Stevie) Holyoke of Keswick Ridge, Amanda (Mandy) and Alex of Oakville ON; two sisters Glenna Harmount of Peoria, Arizona and Lucy Imbach (Franz) of Plymouth Michigan; two brothers Donald (Edna) of Norman Oklahoma and Joe of Burtt's Corner; sister-in-law Kay Holyoke of Fredericton; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two brothers Bert and Tyler. Althought there will be no visitation, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday September 6, 2005 at 2pm from the Nashwaaksis United Church with Rev. Brian MacDonald officiating. A family burial will follow in the Douglas Rural Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Peter Vaughan, Craig Vaughan, Glenn Holyoke and Josh Lawrence. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Hildebrand, Joe Murch, Charles Seymour, Ross Cameron and Douglas Shields. In Lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Nashwaaksis United Church or a charity of the Donor's Choice would be appreciated by the family.
