RALPH LEROY On FORBES

FORBES, RALPH LEROY On September 15, 2005 our beloved Ralph Leroy Forbes passed away at home. He will be missed and remembered by all his good friends and relatives, especially his immediate family; Daphna Forbes, his wife of 57 years; his four children, Larry (Elaine) Forbes of Winnipeg, MB, Alex (Louise) Forbes of South Mountain, ON, Cherlynn (Harold "Cannon" Barton) Forbes of Fredericton, NB and Cindy Forbes of Camrose, AB. Dad had 10 grandchildren; Jody, Larry, Jason, Todd, Shawn and Karen Forbes; Nathan and Ryan Kelly; Stacy Siminick; and Cody Scheuerman. As well, he was the great-grandfather of Joseph, Brooke, Luke, Jessie, Sammy and Shea Forbes; and Brady and Owen Kelly. He was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Minnie Forbes and his brothers, Charles and Perry Forbes. Besides his immediate family, he is survived by his sister June (Len) Kennedy. Dad was born on June 2, 1925, in Fredericton, NB. After serving in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II, he worked in the family road construction company, Forbes and Sloat. People who met Dad through the years never forgot him. Loyal to his family, friends and country; he took pride in the accomplishments and good fortune of others and was always willing to help someone in need. Dad loved life, children, animals, New Brunswick and Canada. The Toronto Maple Leafs never had a more loyal fan. He was a proud, strong man with a gentle heart. Although he would not be described as an "angel", his keen dry sense of humour and generous spirit endeared him to many. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 19, 2005 at 2 pm from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ruth Stewart officiating. Interment will take place at Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery, Fredericton, NB. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Personal condolences may be offered through wwww.yorkfh.com.
