LEWIS, ROBERT ARDEN At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Wednesday September 28, 2005, Robert Arden Lewis of Fredericton passed away at the age of 82. Born in Halifax, NS., he was a son of the late Arden and Hazel (DeWitt) Lewis. Robert spent his working years as a master plumber and pipe fitter. He also worked as a sales representative for the magazine "The Bargineer". Robert was on the First Board of Directors at the Fredericton Direct Charge Co-Op, a Charter member of the Barker's Point Lions Club. A veteran of the Merchant Navy, he was a member of the Merchant Navy Association and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4. He is survived by his wife Mildred nee (Murray) Lewis; children, Kenneth (Monica), Gregory (Linda), Michael, Robert (Doreen), Carmel Phillips (Kim), Madonna Donovan (Rodney); a sister, Betty Cahill; two brothers, Ronald Lloyd (Elizabeth) and Vinton Lloyd; two grandchilden, John Phillips and Jaclyn Phillips; several nieces and nephews. Visitation to receive family and friends will be held at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held at Bishop's Funeral Home on Saturday October 1, 2005 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Reg Miller officiating. Interment will be held privately. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Mini Bus Fund at the Veteran's Unit or the donor's choice. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 will hold a tribute service at the funeral home on Friday evening at 7:00 pm.
