SMITH, CHARLES RICHARD - Charles R. Smith of Fredericton, NB passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Wednesday September 7th, 2005 at the age of 84. Born in Saint John, NB, he was a son of the late Hugh and Alice (Wood) Smith. Charles was a member of Saint Paul's United Church, a veteran of the 2nd World War serving with the R.C.O.C. & the B.C.A.F, a member of the RCL branch # 4, member of the RCAF association # 252 wing & a member of the Alexander Lodge # 33 Fr & AM, Shriner & # 32 degree mason as well as member of the Scottish Rite & Luxor Temple AAONMS. He was a long time member of the Capital Winter Club. Charles owned & operated Capital Sales Ltd & Audio Lectronics Ltd for 25 years, retiring in 1980. He is survived by wife Ella Eileen (Appleby) Smith, two children, Greg Smith (Sally) of Los Gatos, Cal. Lynne Stiles of Los Angeles Cal, seven grandchildren - one great-grandchild, sister Louise Smith of Saint John NB, numerous nieces & nephews. He was also predeceased by a son Geoffrey, one sister & two brothers. Although there was no visitation, a graveside service was held on Monday September 12th at 10:30 AM in the Sunny Bank Cemetery.
