SHIONA BLAIR GIBB STUART (AMOS) MCPHAIL
MCPHAIL, SHIONA BLAIR GIBB STUART (AMOS) The family of Shiona Blair Gibb Stuart McPhail (Amos) wish to announce her passing on September 29, 2005 at Glasgow, Scotland after a long struggle with leukemia. Born at Bank Brae, Bridge of Weir, Scotland on September 25, 1926, Shiona came to Fredericton in 1946 as a Scottish War Bride, returning to live in Scotland in 1964. She visited Canada several times over the years, maintaining a strong connection with her Canadian family and friends in the Fredericton area and on the Miramichi. Shiona is survived by her husband, Malcolm McPhail in Bridge of Weir, Scotland, son Robert (Bev) of Nasonworth, NB, daughters Judy McLachlan (Peter) of Bridge of Weir and Ruth Porter of Kirkintilloch, Scotland, sister Elspeth and brother William, both of Bridge of Weir, Scotland and sisters-in-law Verna MacKinnon of South Nelson, NB, Vivian Lyons of Doaktown, NB, Mable Amos of Carroll's Crossing, NB and Donna Amos of Moncton, NB. She is also survived by grandchildren, Julie Amos of Nasonworth and Kathy Amos of Charter's Settlement, NB, Sandra McLachlan of Brighton, England, Cheryl McLachlan of Glasgow, Scotland, Paul and Robbie Porter and great-grandson, Reise Porter, all of Kirkintilloch, Scotland, and numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, Scotland and Australia. Shiona was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Amos of Fredericton, and by her parents, one sister and one brother in Scotland. Prior to her death, in lieu of commitment to burial, Shiona arranged to donate her remains for scientific study.
