Moore May Rick

Date de décès : 31 mars 2008

Rick Moore May 20, 1962 - March 31, 2008 Rick's mother Lois, brother-in-law Gilles and old buddy Kent are pleased to announce that Rick has come to join them for a visit. Followed by a round of golf and a few drinks with Gilles and a quick game of hockey with Kent, Rick will join his mom to tell her all about his life and the many successes he has enjoyed since they were last together. Rick enjoyed many memories with his father Bob, brother Mike and sisters Cary, Shannon and Wendy along with their partners and children. A highlight from childhood for Rick was of the times when he and his family spent part of their summer vacation at Baker's Inn at Waskesiu National Park. He also remembers, with affection, hanging out with the Henday Bay Bunch along with the Portage La Prairie crew. Rick also will tell his mother of the fine people that he came to know in his in-laws Rino and Louise, Chuck and his wife along with their children, grandson and other nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed a few rounds of golf with the crew from the Edmunston Golf Club. Rick was fortunate enough over the years to enjoy the love and support of his extended family Fred and Bev, Jim, as well as Earl and Gladys and all of his cousins. Rick would also want to make special mention of his grandmother Margarita as well as his God-parents Wayne and Lynn. In visiting with his mother, Rick would absolutely want to tell her about the fun times (but not all) that he had with his hockey team - The Bullets. Over the years they enjoyed many games together not to mention a bevy or two. Rick was fortunate enough to work in a field that he loved. Rick's work took him far and wide - including a trip to the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia to bring Canadians up-to-date news on their athletes. While Rick may have felt a sense of appreciation and of family in working with the staff from The Times Herald, the feeling was mutual as it was his peers who successfully nominated him for the Ovation Award which recognizes excellence in writing. In catching up with his mom after all of these years, Rick would be most proud of sharing with her his good fortune in having met Denise and of having married the love of his life on August 14, 1999. Since then, they created a wonderful life together full of love, laughter and challenges - some of which were character builders and some of which were life-altering. Rick is certain to have many stories to share with his mother of his time spent with Denise - enough stories to keep them visiting for some time to come. Please join Denise and all those who are proud to be part of Rick's family and friends in celebrating his life on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in the Ned Andreoni Gym at Vanier Collegiate, 324 MacDonald St. W. For those so wishing, memorials in Rick's memory may be made to Homecare, c/o the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3, or the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St.W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2. In living memory of Rick, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. Please sign the memorial register book at website:www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
