MURIEL G. THOMPSON
THOMPSON, MURIEL G. Muriel G. Thompson passed away at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, Monday morning, October 24, 2005. Muriel, aged 86, was born in Fredericton. She is survived by her sons, Eric R. Thompson (Lynn) of Pincourt Quebec, and J. Keith Thompson (Rosalyn) of Fredericton; her sisters Edith Macleod of Houston, BC, Joyce Rickard and Lois Cameron and her brother Eric McMurtrie, all of Fredericton; and her grandchildren, Mark, Alison, Scott, David and Daniel. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, John R.Thompson. Muriel worked at the Estey and Curtis Drug Company in Fredericton before marrying and moving to Lower Coverdale in 1946 where she made a home for John and her two boys, Eric and Keith. She also worked at Bruce Sutherlands and Shoppers Drug Mart, was a member of the choir and played the organ in the Lower Coverdale United Baptist Church. Muriel and John moved to Fredericton in 1990 and were members of Greenwood Drive Baptist Church. Her latter years were dedicated to the care and comfort of her husband. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Bishops Funeral Home, 580 Woodstock Road, Fredericton. The funeral service will be held at Greenwood Drive Baptist Church, 150 Greenwood Drive, Fredericton, N.B. at 2:00 PM, Thursday October 27, 2005 with Rev. David Egers officiating. Interment will be held at the Lower Coverdale Cemetery on Friday October 28, 2005 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Harold Arbo. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the love and attention given to Muriel by the dedicated group of care-givers who have brought joy, happiness and love to Mom this past year. We know how greatly you enriched the last year of her life. She appreciated all of you.
