WILLIAM CEDRIC THURROTT

THURROTT, WILLIAM CEDRIC William (Bill) C. Thurrott of Nackawic passed away November 11, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Minto in 1947, he was a son of Cedric B. Thurrott and the late Marjorie L. (Norrad) Thurrott. Bill was a graduate of the New Brunswick Teachers College and St. Thomas University. He began his teaching career in Boiestown and then taught more than thirty years at Nackawic Elementary School. He was a gifted teacher and is fondly remembered by many of his former students and often referred to as "the big teddy bear". One of his distinguishing features was his sense of humor and the "Jack Benny look". Bill is survived by his wife, Ann (Dunphy) Thurrott; his children, Michael, Mary and Evan Thurrott, all of Nackawic; his father, Cedric Thurrott (Kaye), Fredericton; A sister, Laura Lee Hemming (Michael), New Maryland; three brothers, Stephen Thurrott (Katherine), Vincent Thurrott (Paola), both of Fredericton and Brad Norrad (Carol), Ontario; several nieces and nephews. Resting at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic with visiting hours Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Clement's Anglican Church, 6832 Route 2, Dumfries on Sunday, November 13, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Elaine Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints Anglican Cemetery, McKeen's Corner.
