FRANCES LOUISE (FRANKIE) HICKEY

HICKEY, FRANCES LOUISE (FRANKIE) The death of Frances (Frankie) Hickey of Mountainside Lodge, formerly of Fredericton, NB occurred Monday, November 28, 2005. Born in Richibucto, NB, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Hattie (Pierce) Squires and wife of the late Rutherford J. (Max) Hickey. Frankie grew up in Woodstock, where she later taught school after graduating from New Brunswick Normal School. She attended Mount Allison University where she met Max and married in 1941. A fifty-year member of the IODE, she was active in Fredericton, in her earlier years and responsible for reviving the Sackville Chapter. Frankie was an avid reader and took special joy in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Frankie is survived by her son Tom Hickey and his wife Lorraine of Fredericton, NB; daughter Anne M. Fairlie and her husband William of Orleans, ON; seven grandchildren, Sean (Janice), Alex (Shelley), Jennifer, David and Andrew Hickey, Andrea Stevenson (Craig), Cameron Fairlie; great grandchildren Grace and Ella Hickey and Benjamin Hickey. Special thanks to daughter #2 Heather Perritt and her husband David for their continual love and support and to Mountainside Lodge Caregivers who provided a warm and caring home for Frankie. There will be no visitation by request. A Memorial Service will be held from the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Friday, December 2nd, 2005 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gil MacKenzie officiating. Interment will take place in the Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or to the Canadian Cancer Society. www.mcadamsfh.com
