BARTON, IRENE HELEN (HIGGINS) The death of Irene Helen (Higgins) Barton, 94, of Minto, NB occurred Sunday, December 4th, 2005 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born in Salmon Creek, NB she was the eldest of 5 children born to Harry William Higgins and Pearl (MacAllister) Higgins. She is survived by two sons, Glendon Barton of Minto and Michael Barton (Gail) of Calgary; three daughters, Treva Robichaud (Leo) of Hamilton, Winona Cole (Ronald) of Chipman and Cheryl Corkum (Karl) of Beaverbrook, NS; She has 26 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren andseven great great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Murray Higgins (Mona) and Orville Higgins both of Chipman; one sister Myra Colwell of Chipman and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Basil Barton and four children; infant son Gary, daughter, Ruth McLean, two sons, Murray (Bud) and Robert (Bob), a sister Valerie Bishop, a brother Hal Higgins and two infant siblings. Resting at the Minto Funeral Home (327-3490) where visitation will take place on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 7th, 2005 at the Chipman United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Ronald Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the United Pentecostal Cemetery, Chipman. Donations may be given to the charily of your choice. Lively and in very good health to the end, Irene's greatest hope that she would never have to spend her final days in a long term care facility. God answered her prayers and she passed peacefully. She much loved and will leave a great void in the lives of all who knew and loved her......She will be missed.
