MARY IRENE DINEEN LEE

LEE, MARY IRENE DINEEN The death of Mary Irene Dineen Lee of Fredericton, NB occurred Sunday, December 4th, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on June 24th, 1945 in Fredericton, she was the daughter of the late Dr. James Dineen and Catherine (Kay Archambault) Dineen of Fredericton. Irene graduated from UNB with a Bachelor of Arts in 1966 and a Bachelor of Education in 1967. She married and moved to Halifax where she taught at Queen Elizabeth and St. Patrick's High School. In 1969 she moved with her husband to Australia, taught at Kelvin Grove High School in Brisbane and raised her three children. While in Australia, she completed her Master of Arts degree in Literacy Studies in 1984 from the University of Queensland. She returned to Fredericton with her children in 1984, continuing her professional career as a teacher in local schools and Community Collages. Irene also worked as a home caregiver for several years. She was a member of St. Dunstan's Roman Catholic Church and a member of the C.W.L. Survived by her mother Kay Dineen of Fredericton; sons, Sean (Lindsay Cameron) and Michael (Kathleen MacPhee), both of Fredericton, NB; daughter, Shannon Lee; two grand-children, Meaghan and Colm; brothers, James R. Dineen of Fredericton, NB, George Dineen of Edmonton, AB; sisters, Patricia Dineen (Jim Piercy) of Fredericton, Barbara Hill of Halifax, NS; nieces, Sandra, Grace, Anna, Julia, Sara and Elizabeth; nephews, Jim, Jack, Charlie, Tom and Martin. Predeceased by her father Dr. James Dineen, brother-in-law Rollie Hill, sister-in-law Susan Burchill Dineen, and niece baby Emma Hill. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Friday, December 9th, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Dunstan's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, December 10th, 2005 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gerald White as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Hermitage Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Palliative Care Unit or to a charity of one's choice. www.mcadamsfh.com
