Trites, Howard Edwin September 28, 1929 - April 21, 2008 Howie passed away suddenly in Edmonton on April 21, 2008 at the age of 78. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years Naomi Trites (nee Miller) in July 2002. He is survived by his loving family: Daughter Cheryle Jaye Trites of Edmonton, Son Gordon Miller Trites (Mary Anne), Granddaughters Tasmin and Deana all of Calgary, sister-in-law Audrey Layton of Jacksonville, Fla., brother-in-law Bill Alford of Maple Ridge BC, and close family member Dianne (Andy) Shepherd - a niece of Moose Jaw as well as many other nieces and nephews. Howard worked for the CPR for over 40 years in various management positions and in many locations across Western Canada. He also worked overseas as a railway consultant in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Tanzania and had many great stories from his early years on the ice gang to working in foreign countries. Howard always enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and if you were ever lucky enough to sit at the dinner table and enjoy a meal you knew he was also a great cook. He will always be remembered as a kind and generous person who loved his family and to enjoy life. He will be deeply missed. No service by request. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
