DONALD (DON) JOSEPH KENNY

KENNY, DONALD (DON) JOSEPH Donald Joseph Kenny passed away at home on Monday, December 26th, 2005, at the age of 67. Born in Marysville, N.B. on August 12th, 1938, he was the son of Winnifred Price Kenny and the late Irvine Kenny. He is survived by his mother, Winnifred, of York Manor; one brother; Robert Kenny (Joan) of Fredericton; three nieces, Mary Ellen Kenny (Fred Headon) of Montreal, PQ; Natalie Kenny (Tim Richardson) and Brigette Kenny of Fredericton; one grand niece, Ellen Richardson and several aunts and cousins. Don had a long and distinguished career in the civil service in the Province of New Brunswick. For more than 40 years, he worked with the Department of Justice, and received many awards and citations throughout his professional life. In the latter part of his career, he served as Clerk of the Provincial Court in Burton. Don was a very active member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, where he was a devoted member of the choir. His interests were varied, but he especially loved traveling and reading. Don was proud of his community of Marysville, and worked to promote its unique history. He was a founding member of the Alexander Gibson Memorial School Reunion Committee. There will be no visitation, by request. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday December 29th, 2005, at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Crockett Street, Marysville. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB or the I.W.K. Hospital for Sick Children.
