MERRITT, RONALD FLOYD The death of Ronald Floyd Merritt, husband of Marjorie (Munn) Merritt, occurred on Friday January 6, 2006, at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born in Maple Grove NB, he was the son of the late Warren and Mae (Dunphy) Merritt. Ronald was retired from the Department of Transportation. He enjoyed singing, playing music and spending time with his friends and family. He is survived by three sons Floyd (Sheila) of Fredericton Junction, Donald and Daniel Merritt both of Springfield NB; one daughter Jean (David) Pike of Airdrie, AB; two brothers Leonard (Bessie) Merritt of Oshawa, ON and Reid (Iva) Merritt of Fredericton NB; one sister Letha (Marvin) Cope of Florida; three grandchildren Cheryl (Mike) Orr, Dawn and Rachael Pike; two great grandchildren Kaleb and Tanner Orr; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Carl and Harold Merritt; one sister Elma Ingraham. At the family's request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the New Brunswick Lung Association or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
