BUCHANAN, THOMAS EDWARD 1930-2006 Donkin/Ontario It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Edward Buchanan of Burlington, ON, formerly of Donkin, Cape Breton on January 3, 2006. Thomas was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 52 years, Susan (Penny), originally from Birch Grove, Cape Breton and currently living in Burlington, ON. Thomas will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Judy McDonald and her husband Ronald and Brenda Ann Buchanan; his two grandchildren Paul McDonald and Andrea Chan and her husband Zandro; and his great grandson, Asher Chan (Oakville, ON.), as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Thomas was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 27 years and served in three peacekeeping missions in the Middle East. Thomas was predeceased by his brothers, John (Buds), Alex, Albert, Kenneth and sisters Mary Ellen Livingstone and Beatrice MacVicar. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Funeral service officiated by Fr. C. Bisson will be Friday, 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, followed by interment at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
